Discover a blog especially made for exchange students

At HigherEdMe, we want to thank Cris from the blog Cris Goes Abroad for writing a Facebook post about us on his Exchange Student Facebook page!

Through his blog, he makes us feel as if we were travelling with him and he writes beautiful stories, thoughts and a lot of useful pieces of advice.

There’s this article that I really like and that you could use once you are abroad. It deals with what you can do once you are on your own, far from your relatives because it’s not always easy to live your first day in a foreign country. There are some things you could do to fit in and feel more at ease.

I really advise you to visit his blog and discover what it’s really like to be an exchange student.

Reasons why you should visit France

Reasons why you should visit France

France is a truly beautiful country. Whether it’s for its food or its landscapes, there are many reasons why you should put “Visit France” on your bucket list. Here are some of them that may interest you:

It has wonderful villages

While some would prefer to visit big cities like Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux or Grenoble, I’d highly recommend you to visit small (or bigger) villages in addition to the most famous cities in France. For example,  Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval is a village that I love, it was made famous by the “Cirque du Fer à Cheval” but it also includes other attractions such as the Cascade du Rouget waterfall, named “Queen of the Alps”.

It has the best pastries in the world

Croissants, macarons, éclairs, mille-feuilles, Paris-Brest… France is known for its great and colorful pastries. They are so good you know for sure you will have to go on a diet once you will be back home!

The Arts are a part of French culture

A lot of museums are open for visits in many cities in France. Perhaps one of the most famous is the Louvre Museum as it is the world’s second most visited museum after the Palace Museum in China, receiving more than 9.26 million visitors in 2014 and exhibiting 35,000 objects from prehistory to the 21st century. Other famous museums include The Musée Fabre in Montpellier, the Gallo-Roman Museum of Lyon-Fourvière or the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations in Marseille.

Many other beautiful things to see!

In case you were not already convinced, France has many different kinds of landscapes and you can only be filled with the magic of it. Whether it’s in Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter, the changing landscapes have their own particular charm and if you visit France once, you are going to want to visit it again!

So if you are now ready to study in France, tell us about your study abroad project on HigherEdMe.

Discover Summer Schools

Discover Summer Schools

Why go on a Summer School?

Summer Schools are a form of education lasting usually from one to eight weeks during Summer Holidays. It is the perfect way of studying abroad when you are not ready or don’t have the budget to study abroad a whole semester or a whole year. During a Summer School, students can engage in full-time intensive classes and can attend extracurricular activities of their choice.

Going on a Summer School has many advantages, both socially and educationally.

*Better verbal and writing skills

Not only you’ll be able to take courses in a foreign language but you’ll also meet foreign people thus you’ll be in total immersion. It’s really important to speak and hear a foreign language if you want to develop your skills. Being able to write another language is great but it’s much more important to be able to interact with people in this language. Summer Schools can help you do that!

*Get new knowledge

You’ll be visiting and having fun of course! But you’ll also study. With their intense courses, Summer Schools help you improve your grades and support University applications. It’s really important and can make a difference as it proves how involved you are in your studies and how much committed to your own development you can be.

*Discover new cultures

Summer Schools bring people from all over the world together. This way, you can learn more about the way they live, the way they think… You’ll also be able to teach them about your very own culture and perhaps make lifelong friends!

You want to study abroad for a semester, a year or only a Summer? Then you should register on HigherEdMe by clicking here to get a chance to be contacted by worldwide Schools and Universities.
