Interview with Czarila

About Czarila study abroad project

What do you want to study and why?

Architecture and Interior Design. I’m currently a 4th-year student, hopefully graduating next year and I think I need to improve more and step up my game if I want to keep pursuing architecture.
I want to study to improve myself more and to be more competent. I think that by studying I would be doing my parents’ wish for me to have a good life for I may not be sure if I’d be successful in the field, but I know that I can proudly say that I finished my studies.

I like my study field because it taught me to strive harder (well, that besides my major subjects). It taught me to plan beforehand. But the most important of all was that it taught me a lot about time management and how to handle huge pressures.

Where are you from and where do you want to go?

I’m from the Philippines and I just don’t like my country, I love my country. My country has this capacity to embrace people even having different cultures and perspective on things. In jeepneys and even on the streets, you can see that the Bayanihan still lingers. Strangers smile at you kindly, children and young adults respecting their elders through “mano po’s” and po and opo, the traditions like simbang gabi and the holy week is still not forgotten and I think that’s what makes me love it because it just showcases how much our country can be even if it’s small and poor.

I want to go to a lot of places, but I am particularly fond of the countries in Europe. I’m looking for a new experience, a new learning environment to have an idea of what is it like outside of my home country.

Czarila is actually studying at the Tarlac State University, a public university located in Tarlac City, Philippines.

Tell us more about you

What do you enjoy doing when you have spare time?

To be perfectly honest, I often just sleep during my free time. But most of the time, I’m in front of my computer, rushing things and completing my homework. I read too. I read a lot of books and I scan on some magazines related to my major, especially during vacation when there’s not much to do.

Is there a personality trait about you that you are proud of?

My trait that I’m most proud of is I think my ability to handle pressure. Although at times I fail, I cry when there’s just so much stuff to do, I don’t stop from trying. I finish the given task with all my heart put in it even if it doesn’t seem like so. I’m proud of it because it helps me work harder, to try to do better next time so that I don’t fail and to prevent things from happening again twice.

A message for the higher education institutions

If there is anything you’d like to say to Universities who will see your profile

I’d like to know what it’s like outside my comfort zone, I’d like to learn how reality works and I’d like to break free from my normal routine. I feel like I can only achieve those things if a university that I’ve only ever dreamed of before is going to accept me.

If you can go abroad with a friend?

It would be Laisa
She isn’t my friend, but she’s my sister. I would like to go with her because I think we both share the same dream.
