Interview with Reuben

About Reuben study abroad project

What do you want to study and why?

Business Administration. I never really liked the field at first until I learned the importance, use, influence, and power of money. My country has the potential of a thousand mustard seeds. A good education and adequate exposure could just be what my people need to get them from developing country to developed country. After all one man can change the world right?

Where are you from and where do you want to go?

I’m from Zambia, a landlocked nation in the southern part of Africa. I love how friendly the people of my country are, we often go out of our way to help. In my nation, I’m looking for opportunities to set up a business(es) that could reduce as much as possible the unemployment rates while also making a platform for more people to better their lives. I’d most definitely love to study in China, it’s a fast-growing economy and trade and business has never had a better place to be studied.

Tell us more about you

What do you enjoy doing when you have spare time?

I love art in basically every form sadly I wasn’t awarded a talent to like Picasso so instead I do photography, my hobbies include playing chess, reading on great people Marie Curie, Leonardo da Vinci, Mahatma Gandhi, etc. I also do poetry and creative writing

Is there a personality trait about you that you are proud of?

I’m a motivational speaker, maybe not yet on a commercial scale but most of my friends confess reaching out to me when they felt low and felt way better after we talked.

A message for the higher education institutions

If there is anything you’d like to say to Universities who will see your profile?

I’m not fond of speaking of myself in fear of coming out as self-absorbed. Nonetheless, I believe I have great potential, I’m a great conversationalist and work great with people, I love to bring out the full potential in people and live to make a difference before my time is up. I’m the only child of a single woman on a sad salary and a full scholarship is most likely the only way I’d be able to get a decent opportunity. I’d highly appreciate the consideration

If you can go abroad with a friend?

My brother Micheal, we met back in grade school and went from enemies to friends to brothers in an instant. Micheal is a born leader, loyal to his own and one of the most driven people I know. His philosophy of life is incredible and more so his generosity. Micheal has had his fair share of turmoil from living in a broken home to nearly not being able to afford college (he wouldn’t without a government bursary). Aside from all this he stays kind and genuine and pursues his passion for Pharmacy. I love Micheal he’s the first person that came to mind when I read this question
