Interview with Yolanda
About Yolanda Mujana study abroad project
What do you want to study and why?
Masters in International Relations, mostly because it helps understand why nations interact the way they do and laws around the sovereignty of a nation vis-à-vis laws which govern the world. I like it as it does not limit you to one field, the history involved in how some things turned out the way they are is worth the research and critique as well
Where are you from and where do you want to go?
Am from Zimbabwe and I want to study in Europe preferably Sweden, Germany and the UK. My home country has a diverse culture and one of the best literacy rates. Am looking for a new environment, new people, new languages as well as a hub of opportunities and technological advancements
Tell us more about you
What do you enjoy doing when you have spare time?
I am a very big reader. I read anything I can get my hands on from academics to casual novels. Am also into sports. I usually attend football, rugby and cricket matches. I also play basketball once in a while.
Is there a personality trait about you that you are proud of?
I laugh a lot. Am generally a happy person. Am proud of this because it always helps me achieve challenges in life as I look at them as lessons rather than things trying to weigh me down.
A message for the higher education institutions
If there is anything you’d like to say to Universities who will see your profile
I will be the best student, mostly because I will bring a diverse cultural background which the University and Student body will also benefit from.
If you can go abroad with a friend?
I would go with Coleen. She is basically my little sister and also she is generally my shoulder to cry and being overseas together will make our friendship stronger
